Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot

Located inside the evocative Corte Cosimo I, Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot is the spacious yet welcoming Sala Bistrot. The café and Cocktail Bar may be accessed directly from Via del Corso, a quiet and private environment, perfect for a business lunch, an informal dinner or a relaxed moment with an excellent coffee or a signature cocktail.

It is also the ideal location for professional meetings, or perhaps the setting for smart working in a gracious space. Open year-round from early in the morning until late in the evening, with approx. 50 seats, it is a true “salon,” open to the city and dedicated to discerning Florentines and also to clients from Prato and Siena. Indeed, it is an invitation to all Tuscans, not only to foreign visitors, to come inside and discover the beauty of the Palazzo, savour its atmosphere and relive its history.

After all, the homonymous Via del Corso is the oldest street in Rome, Caput Mundi, a place that thoroughly represents history. “You cannot build the future without looking at History, magistra vitae, and our memory, which gives meaning to our present and provides us with the tools and teachings to look toward the future,” says the Chef. His is an enlightened vision, transforming this venue into an innovative project of urban regeneration.

The menu here, drawing inspiration from Tuscan and Italian tradition, is diversified according to the time of day, from breakfast to after-dinner with signature Mixology creations.

Appetizers include San Filippo anchovies with burrata cheese and artichokes in oil; Crudo of tuna and amberjack, marinated spring onion and a citrus sauce; Antica Corte Pallavicina’s 24-month-old Culatello di Zibello with melon and cantaloupe; and Vitello Tonnato with pequillo peppers.

Unsurpassed quality is the common denominator for quick dishes such as the Club Sandwich Portinari and the Chiana Burger with pecorino cheese, sautéed chard, red onion jam and black truffle mayonnaise. Among the first courses, be sure to try egg and spinach “Paglia e fieno” Taglietelle with porcini mushrooms and Patanegra ham; Crespelle alla fiorentina with ricotta cheese and spinach; Cavatelli cacio e pepe with red prawns and marinated baby squid. Main courses include Guinea fowl supreme with sautéed friggitelli; Seared Ombrine with Lucanian ciambotta and saffron sauce; Porcini omelette, pecorino cheese and mint salad, Soft-shell Crab.
